We got a new tandem kayak.  We will be making our kayaks available to our guests.  Now I just need to fix up the kayak shack.  I am going to make some shelves to store these on.  Got the back fence looking pretty ship shape now.  Now to bribe my kids into painting it too. Another gorgeous end to a pretty fall day.  Even better with the fence repaired finally. Our rose bush looks like it's still blooming.  I didn't know they did that this late in the year.  Must be all the warm weather. And I installed some new shelves in the game closet and stocked it a bit more.  Come enjoy a family game night or two here at the Chilcottage. Hope to see you all real soon.

Fall at the lake is the prettiest!  Leaves are still on the trees.  It is turning cooler and the sun sets right at the back of the house on the lake. We are adding last minute touches and finishing up remaining projects.  Be watching for the new AIRBNB booking link coming soon.  

  Spent a lot of this last weekend in the attic.  I haven't had to do that in quite a while.  Did two wall drops to finish up connecting the last remaining tv's to the outdoor antenna.  Now all the bedrooms can not only get the local channels and news, but also the cowboys games (which is far more important).  We are working on our AIRBNB write up for the listing.  We can't wait to have you all out.  See ya soon!

We found these bargains at the early black friday sales at Lowes.  We think they are super cute.  The house didn't have an actual fireplace, and we kinda wanted the asthetic beauty of one, so we bought two.  One for the master and one for the living room. We then repurposed some of the other furniture upstairs, and think it looks pretty good. I added some new lighting above the kitchen sink. And added some new storage in the pantry. and in the game closet. Let us know what you think.  And we will see you soon.

So, we are only about 2 months out from being listed on AIRBNB.  We are doing a few last minute pushes to meet our own self-imposed deadline.  Here are some of the latest updates. Without further ado. Added some new lighting. Had an electrician add in a few more convenient outlets, including one in the entry that really brightens things up and adds some stairway lighting at night. A few bathroom accessories. Some cute little signs that let everyone know we are on a septics system.  This is the one in the main bathroom. This is the one in the master bathroom. Some cute hanging light over the dining table.  Great for games. And some combo luggage rack / clothers hampers in all the rooms. Stay tuned next week to see how our new coffee bar turns out. They are starting work on another roadway leading to our lakehouse.  The last one shaved off 10 minutes form our trip.  Let hope this one does the same.  Highway 205 from Lavon to Rockwall is going from 2 lanes to 4 lanes with maybe a turn lane also.  For those of you coming from Dallas on I-30, or elsewhere this will mean nothing to you.  But we are pretty excited about it. Here is the map that shows the construction project.

We used the long weekend to finish framing out the bathroom mirrors. Below you can see the before and after pictures. And if you like this look, I can make some you too.
