And now it looks like we are doing a dock remodel too.  Along with all the house remodeling that we are doing, it's really adding up. But it's really starting to look nice too. We are going to replace all the failing wooden hand railings with weather-proof metal pipe railing.  Like the picture below. All the existing wood will be power washed and stained.  Any aging or warped boards will be replaced. There will be new stairs and railing running down to the water.  3 new piers to brace up the existing structure.  And more secure stairs going up to the 2nd level. Eventually we would like to replace all of the aging wood with trex, add a double jet ski hoist and launch, and a closet to store lake toys and fishing poles in.  But you should have seen the price that they wanted to charge for all of that.  It was insane and will have to wait till next season. We might have to close off booking out the house for 1 possibly 2 weeks, in order for us to be there ...

The free golf cart that one of our neighbors gave us (from www.nextdoor.com ) needed a new battery.  Well we finally got one! And we could not believe it, the beast actually runs!  It still needs a little body work, but after a bath it looks pretty good.  And boy, Little Mule is a rocket!!! Here are some pictures of the new upstairs curtains we put up.  The ones over the closets are temporary until I get a chance to cut down some doors that I was given off of Freecycle ( www.freecycle.org ). Here is one of our neighbors that came over to say "HI". And with the Little Mule, it's so much easier to trek down to the dock at night.  Here is a picture that I took Saturday night.

We had our little one's 5th birthday party out at the lake.  Had some of our good friends and their kids out to celebrate too for the weekend.  The place accommodated all 9 of us very easily.  The Chilcottage AIRBNB is an excellent place for birthdays, graduations, or just get togethers.  Sleeps up to 13.  Here are some pics of all the fun we had.   Blow out those candles!  We just really wanted to take the time to give a big special thank you to all the friends and family that have helped us out in making this lakehouse so special. We got a chance this past weekend to try out the first boat.  Chelseas cousin, Andrew Schutz donated an inflatable raft to the place. He won it for being such a successful salesperson at Dell.  Thank you Andy!!!  And keep up the good work! The kids had fun swimming and boating over the Memorial Day weekend. We also got the kids playhouse cleaned up and ready to go.  So come on over and check out both of them.  See ya soon.

Well it seems that no matter what the project is, it usually takes me sooooo much longer to finish than I expect.  That being said, the kitchen cabinets are finally done. We got the new towel racks up in the master bathroom.  And started framing out the mirror in there too. Don't remember if I posted the little boat shelf for the other bathroom. I got some LED lights to brighten up the dock. The Tinkers gave us a gas grill as a thank you for hosting them at Easter.  Now we have gas and charcoal grills. The kids and I made a firepit out back and you can see all of us enjoying it below. Well back to work. I still have a huge list of things still to get done.  Remember we are renting out the place for whenever you like.  Just keep in mind that it is still not where we would like it to be yet.  Give us a call, text, or email and maybe just a bit of notice to pick up the kids toys. 

This weekend we were lucky enough to host the Tinker Annual Easter Gathering.  We had so many people at the Chilcottage this weekend.  But it was super fun.  Now we definitely know how many people our house can sleep, and that we need another bathroom too. haha.  We had some great food, made some new friends and had so much fun.  Here are some pictures from the weekend. What a beautiful, and rather cold first day of spring.  Easter will be here before we know it. New bathroom cabinet.  It's a boat. Neat.  This room is almost done.  That would be the first.  Ugg. Some updated shelf pictures with some happy little plants. And some new kitchen and dining decorations.   Chelsea's Arm.
